Is lung cancer treatable?
Agony of patients with lung cancer: missing the best treatment time due to long waiting time in the government hospital? Denied admission by certain hospitals for being too sick? Fuda Cancer Hospital can help! We feature minimally invasive therapy and specialize in the treatment of early, intermediate and advanced cancer.
Traditional surgery: unsuitable for patients with advanced lung cancer due to large trauma. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy is a common treatment but its toxic and side effects, such as hair loss and vomiting do great harm to human body.
The latest anti-cancer treatments: great improvement of survival rate, low risk, minimum side effects, low recurrence rate and no need for surgery, which can reduce the physical damage and thus are more suitable for frail patients with advanced cancer.
An advanced lung cancer patient has lived a 6-year high-quality life after treatment at Fuda.
Mr. Lin, Thai, survives for 6 years with advanced lung cancer.
In 2013, Mr. Lin was diagnosed with a central type of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma in his right lung. Then doctors there recommended an open surgery to cut 2/3 of his lung. "My father is too old to withstand this painful surgery. So we refuse it," Mr. Lin's family said with anxiety. In October 2013, Mr. Lin smoothly underwent a right lung tumor biopsy, cryosurgery and brachytherapy. In October 2018, Mr. Lin returned to Fuda for reexamination which showed he was in good condition. So far, he has been surviving for 6 years. Click here to read his story.

For patients with advanced lung cancer in Malaysia, there is no better way except systemic chemotherapy
Multiple medical teams of Fuda Cancer Hospital, including experts in endoscopy, interventional, minimally invasive, anesthesia, and thoracic surgery, are doing their best to treat the patient. Dean Dr. Niu Lizhi personally performed radiofrequency ablation + freezing + stent implantation for the right endobronchial tumor for the patient

Our Signature Therapies
Various ways to treat cancer without surgery or radiation/chemotherapy
-
Brachytherapy
It commonly uses 125 iodine seeds which have a half-life period of 59 days and release a short-course of gamma ray. The seeds implanted into cancerous masses radiate to destroy targeted cells, preventing unnecessary exposure of the whole body to radiation. More details
-
CSA (Cryosurgery Therapy)
The dead tumor tissue in situ after cryosurgical ablation can act as an antigen to promote anti-tumor immune response in the body; frozen cancer cells are more sensitive to chemotherapy or radiotherapy, which can enhance the effect of treatment. More details
-
IRE (Irreversible Electroporation)
Irreversible electroporation is also called nano-knife ablation. It can accurately induce tumor cell apoptosis and completely ablate the tumor without irreversible damage to other important tissues in the ablation zone, such as blood vessels, bile ducts, nerves, etc., so that it can reduce complications caused by other traditional ablation methods. More details
-
CVI (Cancer Vascular Intervention)
Direct injection of chemotherapeutic drugs or embolic agent into the tumor from the tumor-feeding artery can block the blood vessels, cut off the energy supply, and then the tumor will die of ischemia, hypoxia and starvation. On the other hand, the chemotherapeutic drug is concentrated in the tumor and release slowly, exerting the maximum anticancer effect, while it has little effect on the whole body.
-
(PDT) Photodynamic therapy
PDT is a non-thermal light chemical reaction and requires oxygen, photosensitive substance (photo-sensitizer) and laser simultaneously. The photo-sensitizer is absorbed by neoplasm tissue and accumulates in the cells for a long time. The photo-sensitizer is activated with the appropriate wavelength of light. This leads to apoptosis of cancer. PDT is more accurate and effective with fewer side effects. More details

Revolve Resection
Revolve resection is an advanced minimally invasive procedure. It includes surgical instruments of rotary knife and vacuum suction pump, which can perform repetitive cutting on the suspicious lesions and obtain pathological specimens,

Classification of lung cancer
Lung cancer can be divided into two main categories: non-small cell lung cancer (85%) and small cell lung cancer (15%). Non-small cell lung cancer is divided into squamous cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and large cell ( undifferentiated) carcinoma three.
Staging and treatment of lung cancer
(The treatment plan for each stage of lung cancer is for reference only and cannot be used as the sole basis for clinical treatment)
• Lung cancer stage 0: Tis (carcinoma in situ), N0 stage, M0 stage;
Phase 0 treatment plan: photodynamic therapy (PDT), particle implantation therapy
• Stage I lung cancer: T1~T2, N0, M0—the tumor is still in the lung;
Phase I treatment plan: Surgical resection, interventional therapy, cryotherapy, nano knife, microwave ablation, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
• Stage II lung cancer: T1~T3, N0-N1, M0——has metastasized to hilar lymph nodes;
Phase II treatment plan: Surgical resection, interventional therapy, cryotherapy, nano knife, microwave ablation, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
• Lung cancer stage III: any T stage, any N stage, M0 stage - the metastasis has reached the mediastinal lymph nodes;
Phase III treatment plan: interventional therapy, cryotherapy, particle implantation therapy, nano-knife, microwave ablation, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine;
• Lung cancer stage IV: any T stage, any N stage, M1 stage - there has been distant organ metastasis, such as the spine, brain, liver, skin and other distant tissues;
Phase IV treatment plan: interventional therapy, cryotherapy, nanoknife, microwave ablation, particle implantation therapy, gene targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine;
•Lung cancer recurrence: The main sites of lung cancer recurrence are lymph nodes, pleura, kidney, liver, bone and brain.
Recurrence treatment options: interventional therapy, cryotherapy, nano-knife, microwave ablation, particle implantation therapy, gene-targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
Lung cancer care and diet
(1) Lung cancer patients should ensure adequate nutrition, including protein, fat, sugar, vitamins, inorganic salts, etc., and at the same time, they should choose foods that can enhance the body's immunity and fight lung cancer, such as almonds, barley kernels, water chestnuts, Oysters, jellyfish, sea turtles, sea cucumbers, cockles, lilies, white fungus, lotus root, lotus seeds, pears, radishes, ginkgo, loofah, mustard greens, buckwheat, figs, etc.
(2) Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited, and the intake of spicy and stimulating food is temporarily prohibited during hemoptysis, such as leeks, mutton, green onions, ginger, garlic and other foods.
