Can breast cancer be treated properly?
Agony of patients with breast cancer: missing the best treatment time due to long waiting time in the government hospital? Denied admission by certain hospitals for being too sick? Fuda Cancer Hospital can help! We feature minimally invasive therapy and specialize in the treatment of early, intermediate and advanced cancer.
Traditional surgery: unsuitable for patients with advanced breast cancer due to large trauma. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy is a common treatment but its toxic and side effects, such as hair loss and vomiting do great harm to human body.
The latest anti-cancer treatments: great improvement of survival rate, low risk, minimum side effects, low recurrence rate and no need for surgery, which can reduce the physical damage and thus are more suitable for frail patients with advanced cancer.
An advanced breast cancer patient has lived an 14-year high-quality life after treatment at Fuda.
Amy from Hong Kong, China survives for 14 years with advanced breast cancer.
As a flight attendant, Amy lived a busy and funny life. However, in March 2009, she inadvertently found a peanut-sized mass in the outer quadrant of her right breast. Two months later, she underwent a diagnostic resection of her right breast at a local hospital. The pathological report showed invasive ductal carcinoma. When Amy arrived at Fuda, her cancer had developed to a late stage. Doctors here recommended the interventional therapy with drug microspheres to reduce the tumor. Then on March 10, April 7, and May 10, 2016, Amy was given interventional therapy on right breast cancer respectively. Unexpectedly, a chest CT scan on May 30, 2016 indicated that the right breast cancer recurrence was significantly smaller than before; nodular metastases in the right axillary near chest wall were smaller than before, which were appropriate for resection. On June 6, 2016, Amy underwent radical resection of right breast cancer, right thigh skin graft and right breast free skin flap transplantation under the general anesthesia. Prof. Wang Jiannan, the surgeon, said the procedure was smooth and no complications occurred. So far, Amy has been in good condition. Click here to read his anti-cancer story.

Breast cancer has reached the fourth stage, and it was detected that she not only had multiple ribs on both sides, multiple thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, sacral vertebrae, and bilateral ilium with multiple bone metastases, but also soft tissue masses formed around some lesions
Three of the five lesions can be treated directly, and the other two can be ablated by absolute alcohol to reduce tumor activity, and then undergo chemotherapy. In August 2018, interventional therapy for liver metastases was performed, followed by another one. After a series of operations and interventional chemotherapy, in the following recovery process, the state of the body is getting better and better. After blood tests and CT examinations, it was found that the indicators of the body tended to be normal Click to see her cancer story

Our Signature Therapies
Various ways to treat cancer without surgery or radiation/chemotherapy
-
Brachytherapy
It commonly uses 125 iodine seeds which have a half-life period of 59 days and release a short-course of gamma ray. The seeds implanted into cancerous masses radiate to destroy targeted cells, preventing unnecessary exposure of the whole body to radiation. More details
-
CSA (Cryosurgery Therapy)
The dead tumor tissue in situ after cryosurgical ablation can act as an antigen to promote anti-tumor immune response in the body; frozen cancer cells are more sensitive to chemotherapy or radiotherapy, which can enhance the effect of treatment. More details
-
IRE (Irreversible Electroporation)
Irreversible electroporation is also called nano-knife ablation. It can accurately induce tumor cell apoptosis and completely ablate the tumor without irreversible damage to other important tissues in the ablation zone, such as blood vessels, bile ducts, nerves, etc., so that it can reduce complications caused by other traditional ablation methods. More details
-
CVI (Cancer Vascular Intervention)
Direct injection of chemotherapeutic drugs or embolic agent into the tumor from the tumor-feeding artery can block the blood vessels, cut off the energy supply, and then the tumor will die of ischemia, hypoxia and starvation. On the other hand, the chemotherapeutic drug is concentrated in the tumor and release slowly, exerting the maximum anticancer effect, while it has little effect on the whole body.
-
(PDT) Photodynamic therapy
PDT is a non-thermal light chemical reaction and requires oxygen, photosensitive substance (photo-sensitizer) and laser simultaneously. The photo-sensitizer is absorbed by neoplasm tissue and accumulates in the cells for a long time. The photo-sensitizer is activated with the appropriate wavelength of light. This leads to apoptosis of cancer. PDT is more accurate and effective with fewer side effects. More details
-
Revolve Resection
Revolve resection is an advanced minimally invasive procedure. It includes surgical instruments of rotary knife and vacuum suction pump, which can perform repetitive cutting on the suspicious lesions and obtain pathological specimens,

Classification of breast cancer
Breast cancer is usually a type of cancer called "adenocarcinoma," which means cancer cells that originate in glandular tissue. In addition, there are other types, such as sarcomas derived from muscle, fat, or connective tissue.
According to the histological and pathological types of breast cancer, breast cancer is divided into two categories: carcinoma in situ and invasive carcinoma of the breast.
Staging and treatment of breast cancer
(The treatment plan for each stage of breast cancer is for reference only and cannot be used as the sole basis for clinical treatment)
• Breast cancer stage 0: Tis (carcinoma in situ), N0 stage, M0 stage; cancer cells are contained only in the breast; Phase 0 treatment plan: surgery (radical mastectomy and postoperative breast reconstruction).
• Stage I of breast cancer: T1, N0, M0—the cancer cells spread in and around the original site; Phase I treatment plan: surgery (radical mastectomy and postoperative breast reconstruction), interventional therapy, cryotherapy, particle implantation therapy, microwave ablation therapy, gene targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
• Breast cancer stage II: T0-T3, N0~N1, M0 - cancer cells are contained in the breast or only extend to nearby lymph nodes; Phase II treatment plan: surgery (radical mastectomy and postoperative breast reconstruction), interventional therapy, cryotherapy, particle implantation therapy, microwave ablation therapy, gene targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
• Stage III breast cancer: T0-T4, N0-N3, M0—cancer cells have spread to the axillary lymph nodes but not to distant organs; Phase III treatment plan: interventional therapy, cryotherapy, particle implantation therapy, microwave ablation therapy, gene targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
• Breast cancer stage IV: any T stage, any N stage, M1 stage—metastatic to distant organs; Phase IV treatment plan: interventional therapy, cryotherapy, particle implantation therapy, microwave ablation therapy, gene targeted therapy, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine
